About Dr. Helene Cook
Dr. Helene Cook is a fellowship-trained, double board certified podiatrist specializing in foot and ankle care at EPIC Orthopedics. She is dedicated to providing high-quality medical and surgical patient-centered care.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Cook earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UCLA, graduating with college honors and a minor in Biomedical Research. She then pursued her podiatric surgery education at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine – Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated with Phi Delta honors.
Dr. Cook completed an intensive podiatric surgical residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., serving as the Chief Resident. During her residency, she received extensive training in foot and ankle reconstruction, working alongside many of the nation's top foot and ankle surgeons.
To further enhance her expertise in podiatric surgery, Dr. Cook undertook advanced training as a Fellow in Redding, California, where she developed a deep appreciation for all that Redding has to offer.
She is Board Certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in both foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. Her training emphasized trauma, elective reconstruction, limb deformity correction, and limb salvage. Dr. Cook has contributed numerous publications in the field of foot and ankle care and has presented at various local and national conferences.
After practicing for a couple of years in Sacramento, Dr. Cook is thrilled to return to Redding and joined EPIC Orthopedics in September 2025.
Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Cook enjoys staying active, traveling, adventuring with her family and friends, and playing with her spirited dogs.
